Our congregation has been gathering at Bella Vida on Sundays for more than 2 years now. It became our temporary home for this period of time, and we will always be grateful for the open door that was extended to us. Initially, we were also gathering here for Monday Night Prayer and Wednesday Night Bible Study. However, since the pandemic restrictions which began in 2020, we’ve been gathering for in-person services only on Sundays and doing both Mondays and Wednesdays via Facebook Live. And of course, like most churches, there was a period of time when we were unable to gather for in-person services entirely, and all of our Sunday services were either Live Streamed or Facebook Live. We were blessed to resume weekly in-person Sunday services again in September 2021 with the Monday and Wednesday gatherings continuing online.
At the same time, we have always been sensitive to the fact that Bella Vida was our temporary home rather than a permanent one. While we were cautious in following protocols and guidelines closely for the safety of all, we were also sensitive to the fact that Bella Vida’s primary population is seniors, those most vulnerable in the midst of this global pandemic.
The pandemic concerns have continued, now including the new highly contagious Omicron variant, and Bella Vida has heightened their concern around the safety issues impacting the senior population they serve – and we as a congregation definitely understand that concern. So, in light of the current circumstances, the time has come for us to find another home.
Beginning next Sunday, our VCC worship services will continue online only via Facebook Live as well as Live Streaming. And like many churches here in CA and around the country, in-person services will resume as soon as feasible.
At the same time, our Board of Trustees as well as myself are actively looking for our permanent home and will keep you informed. Check our website often, and please be sure that we have your up-to-date contact information so that we can keep you informed of the progress made in this regard.
Be assured that our church activities will continue as usual. That means small groups meetings, Zoom meetings, outreach ministry, everything that we have been doing. Even the Children’s Ministry is re-establishing itself with some wonderful things in store under the direction of its new director, Sis. Denise Thomas.
Finally, I invite any questions you may have. Call us or email us, and we’ll get back to you right away. We’ll see you next Sunday online – either Facebook Live or Live Streaming – and look forward to seeing you in person in our new permanent home soon!
Continued Blessings,
Pastor Swanzi
